My Test of Twitter Rocket

by Ken on September 1, 2009

in Twitter

You might have heard about Ashley Morgan’s E-book, Twitter Rocket, which claims to sky rocket your followers on Twitter, in just 5 days, using perfectly legitimate and spam free techniques.

I stumbled upon Twitter Rocket, as I was searching for a way to increase my Twitter followers, and thought that it sounded promising. However, as I started to look around for some unbiased reviews, I came up a tad short. Sure, there are some buzz about Twitter Rocket, much positive and a few not that flattering, as well.

Nevertheless, the reviews I found, talked mostly about how Twitter Rocket had helped them gain followers, with a link to their Twitter account, which indeed, showed an impressive amount of followers. Still, none managed to answer the simple questions that I wanted answered; do the techniques actually work as said and most importantly can anyone follow them, without any prior knowledge about Twitter?

Safari 4 Beta

by Ken on April 13, 2009

in Tech

I have a friend who is a huge MAC fan and he has been nagging me about why I should get a MAC for quite some time now, which I have not done. However, a few days ago he pointed out that Apple had released a beta version of their web browser Safari 4, which he thought that I could try.

I have used Firefox for years, as my daily browser, and Explorer just for exceptional cases, so I thought it could be fun to try something new, for a change. In addition, I love Apple’s slick designs and flawless interfaces, so my expectations for Safari where high, even though it is just a beta version.

Safari 4 comes packed with over 150 features, providing everything and a bit more, to make your surfing experience a comfortable breeze. Many of the features are new to Safari, like the Nitro JavaScript engine, which executes Java scripts up to 6 times faster than Internet Explorer and 4 times faster than Firefox 3.1. Talking about speed, Safari 4 also uses speculative loading, which means that the browser preloads documents, scripts and style, so the web page is ready when you need it, making your surfing faster and more pleasing.

Rolly is a gadget just as amazing as it is multifaceted. Rolly, shaped like an egg, is actually a little robot who plays music, while it dances to the rhythm of it.

As soon as Rolly hears music, two rings on the sides starts spinning and flashing in different colors, while two small arms covering the speakers waves, all to the rhythm of the music.

Rolly is able to play music from your computer or wirelessly from a Bluetooth device, such as your cell phone or pocket pc. It has an internal memory of 2GB, which gives your MP3s plenty of room, and the internal battery provides you with up to 4 hours of music and motion.

A Quick Look at Windows 7 Beta

by Ken on January 10, 2009

in Tech

Here is a short review of Windows 7, after I took it for a little test spin. Windows 7 is Microsoft attempt to offer a OS that people actually would like to use, since Vista didn’t become the hit they had hoped for.

Many people still uses the older XP and are completely satisfied with that. There is no exact dates when Windows 7 will be official launched, but around 2010 is a good guess. Nor have they said anything about the price for Windows 7 either, however you can download a beta version for free and try it out.

I would recommend that you install or upgrade Windows 7 on a spare computer and only after you have backed up any important data. The core of Windows 7 is built on Vista’s kernel, it’s not a rewrite, though.

I upgraded one of our Vista computers, and I didn’t encounter any problems, during the 50 minutes install. Everything worked flawlessly after the upgrade, however I didn’t have any complicated software on it, either. I have read other reviews of Windows 7, where people’s antivirus software and other programs, has worked right after the upgrade. I got out on the Internet and could check my e-mail without doing anything.

Get Fresh Fonts

by Ken on December 24, 2008

When you design your site, blog theme or sales page you would like some of your text, to stand out. For example, you might want an eye catching logo or some cool text on your buttons. Now, you could go ahead and fire up Photoshop, and do some really fancy stuff with filters and such. However, that could take sometime and can be very frustrating, after a while.

A much easier way, to accomplish an eye catching logo or button, is to find a cool font and go with that, instead of making a Photoshop masterpiece. One of my favorite sites, to find cool fonts is dafont.com.

dafont.com is fast and easy to navigate, and they have all the font categories on the main page. Here you will find fonts in categories like, Fancy, Foreign look, Techno, Gothic, Bitmaps and others. Off course, there is also a search function, that you can use if you already know the name of the font your looking for.

One nifty feature that dafont.com has, is that instead of just see some standard preview of the font, you can get a custom preview, of the font. Just type the text you would want to see, together with the size and all fonts will be showed with your text. A very useful function, that will save you time! Here is an example,

dafont-example
If you register you can comment and give reviews of the fonts, however you can read all comments, without registering.

dafont.com also has a top list, with the most popular fonts, together with a section of various font tools, that can come in handy. Their FAQ section is very good and covers everything you need to know, to install new fonts on your system.

All fonts on dafont.com is not freeware, however most of them are and each font’s license are displayed over the download link. Also, dafont.com gives you a link to the font author’s website, so you can easily contact him or her, if you have any questions about the font you want to use.

Blogging To The Bank 3.0I am pretty sure that you have seen or heard about the blogging millionaire Rob Benwell’s product Blogging To The Bank 3.0, which is an ebook about how to make money with your blog. I have always been skeptical about products that promise you something that sounds to good to be true. I can tell you this, Blogging To The Bank 3.0, delivered more than I expected!

First, one thing that made me skeptical at first, was Rob’s claim that he makes +$90,000 a month, using his own blueprint. So, that was the first thing that I wanted to check, before buying anything else of his statements. Here is how I did it, I checked the estimated number of visitors to his sales page, which showed to be quite impressive, over 140,000 U.S. visitors, according to Compete. Now, let’s say that almost 2% of those visitors actually purchase Blogging To The Bank, that would equal up to almost $100,000 per month. OK, I thought, this guy may be telling the truth and I felt pretty confident that Blogging To The Bank, could contain some useful information, so I bought it.

The actual purchase went smoothly and secure, since it was made through ClickBank, so I wasn’t afraid to use my credit card. However, you could also pay using PayPal, if you prefer that option. After the purchase I instantly received a mail containing a link to the download page for the ebook Blogging To The Bank and the bonuses. The ebook reveled it’s contents on my monitor and I notice that it contained over 50 pages, and I wondered what kind of new techniques that would be presented on them. First there was the usual copyright and disclaimer info. After that I was presented with an introduction, which was quite interesting to read.

Among other things I learned that the previously versions of Blogging To The Bank, had been sold in over 20,000 copies. Also Rob presented himself and it turned out that he has been a blogger since he was 20 and has made over a million, since he started out 4 years ago, which is quite astounding.

After the introduction the real action begins, the blue print of how to become a blogging millionaire. So what does this blue print contain then? Well, Rob guides you through every little step there is to set up a successful blog. You’ll get to know fresh research techniques, tips on your choice of hosting, domain names and how to optimize your blog correctly. Some of these methods where actually new to me too, which I found very promising, for the rest of this ebook.

Blogging

The sections about how to promote your blog together with the SEO methods reveals some very fresh and up-to-date techniques, that I found very useful. Besides that you’ll also get to learn a fast and safe way, to get noticed by the search engines, which is a must if you would like to have any sort of success with your blog. However, there is more packed inside this nice ebook, like how you’ll get those precious backlinks and how to set up your own blog empire, the right way.

The best part is that Rob manages to teach out his methods in an easy and straightforward way, which makes it impossible to misinterpret. Every technique is explained in detail and you’re not forced to wade through a bunch of nonsense, to get to the good parts. That alone makes this ebook a blessing to read and enjoy.
